2003 September 19-20, the section of National art museum of M. K.Čiurlionis, Information Centre for Contemporary Art (ICCA) together with artists group RÜT RÜT present the second festival in Lithuania for multimedia art and music Centras3. The first multimedia art and music festival was opened on 2002 September 14 at M. Žilinskas gallery in Kaunas. This year the festival will continue for two days and the artists will introduce the artworks produced with means of new technologies.

In resistance to the stereotyped attitued, nearly raised and euphoric, to the new technologies, mainly integrated in the sphere of the businesses and research plus the coordination of the information society the organisers tend to overstep the limits.

The aim of this festival is to strecht the line in search for the new, creative environment with the new ways of expression and new unacquianted perception and philosophy; to induce the artists spurt out the steady ways of produce with the using the new technologies as the main tool of the expression.

The first multimedia art festival Cenras2 had participants from different Lithuanian towns, more or less known to the audience: Giedrius Kuprevičius (Kaunas), Donatas "Donis" Bielkauskas (Jurbarkas), Ernas Šimkūnas (Klaipėda), Saulius Arlauskas (Kaunas), Allan Davies (Milton Keynes, Anglija), Saulius Paliukas (Kaunas), Titas Petrikis (Kaunas), Simonas Slučka (Kaunas), Emanuelis Ryklys (Šiauliai), Paulius Sluškonis (Kaunas), Kristijonas "Driezhas" Lučinskas (Plungė). It characterized the variety of the artistic projects starting from nowadays popular tridimentional digital space constructions, jazz music, soft visuals arrangement and ambient music pieces.

The festival Centras2 engaged the audiences and massmedia. The cultural program „Culture House" of the national television prepared a special report. The biggest newspapers „Lietuvos rytas", „Laikinoji sostinė" and „Kauno diena" reflected the appearence of the festival as well.

The festival's main ideas, participants and their works were presented outside Kaunas at „Multimedia League" organised by „Infobalt", the association of the information technologies and telecommunications and the festival of multimedia art in Klaipėda city „Multimedia ART'i".

The second multimedia art festival Centras3 aims to present the bigger scale of the art sections and ways of expressions. The awaited musicians and visual artists's list will be supplemented by the video, digital graphics, photography, media design artists' works, looking for the new possibilities of the expression of the new technologies. The theoretical presentations and commentars will be held on the festival.

The location of Centras3 expands in the centre of Kaunas where is situated M. Žilinskas gallery (cinema hall, lobby, and the yard in the open air) furthermore in the other locations fo the city.
